Horizontally Challenged!!

All my life I have been constantly put in a position or rather in the ‘I think u need to loose some weight category’ that it’s just gone bonkus…my soul and I (it’s done some serious thinking)….it’s just got to a point that I used to have arguments (constructive ones) with loved ones…although I think people should accept a person for who they are and not what they were made of! It’s the inside that is precious and beauty comes from within…“Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder”…well how true is that in the kind of world that we are living in today?

People quickly judge someone by their appearance and immediately put a cock to the bottle and say their not the interesting kind….not the kind that would be able to have incredible conversations with….hmmm….now…how much of this is really true…I would like to believe that there is something about everyone that is interesting and if only we gave equal opportunity to everyone to voice out ones opinion (although it might seem frivolous sometimes!)

Hmmm….the weight issue has always been bugging me and finally I found a jogging partner….Nadia, my colleague (and ‘fufu’ buddy) have decided to put our strength to the test…we have been jogging since Monday, everyday except for yesterday as it was pouring cats and dogs….due to the ground being all soggy and wet!! The park opposite our apartment was the winning venue and it has been great since…

We are taking some dietary pills to keep us healthy and hope to see some good results real soon….at least by Deepavali! We’ve been motivating each other since the beginning of time and finally got around to doing something about it….it sure is a huge commitment and only we know how it should work best! “No Pain, No Gain” they say….i guess there’s some essence of truth in that….go figure!

So we will have to see where this perseverance takes us and u know what….exercising with a friend is so much more fun then when doing it all alone…we keep motivating and supporting each other….it’s actually brilliant! We keep tab of our performances (although we have tried many methods of cheating) but we are getting into that ‘ I want to loose some weight and look nice’ mode and hope this will last till we reach our goals…and then instead of being judged…maybe we can instead?

Hell….if Oprah (My all time favourite person) can do it….why not us? She’s got abs to die for and yes….we want that too!… Oh yes we do…..!

Such is my life!

Its funny how sometimes we always want to do the right things and hope to reap some if not all the benefits…but somehow fail to realize that all actions has an equal and opposite reaction! My girlfriends and I have always been talking about this during our ‘fufu’ sessions and we have all come to a similar conclusion…. good things happen to good people and things always happen for a reason….hmmm! (now…were we putting our thinking caps on or is it just plain simple?)

And the more we realize this…the more we know we don’t know so much! (did not have to get a gal genius to figure out that one though!)…so we have to except the pitiful instances of life and get ourselves together and just do the best we can with life! Some say it’s wonderful, some beg to differ…and where do I stand in all this? Well I have learnt in the recent years from family and friends that there is this thing called ‘karma’ and whatever we do…we do it to the best of our ability…and any complaints? Oh sure…life is so much of a roller coaster that sometimes one wonders…could it get any worse? Oh my goodness….u wouldn’t believe the predicament!

I have always believed in the high and mighty and my mom always used to tell me…put in the 60% and the other 40% will come on its own….and so that is what I have been doing all this time…although some might say where’s the 100%? But u know what, it’s been working wonders…I must say that I have a beautiful and wonderful family….their support is mountain high and mean the world to me….and my friends who have been so great (that I thank god everyday for all these blessings)…..come to think of it…all the other things in life which I thought I really wanted and needed did not seem so important now as I have grown mature…all the bumps on the road that we travel on…is just a passing phase and there’s so much to look forward to?….to know that the little things in life…mean much more….much much more…!

All time fav!!

Footprints in the Sand
Author: Mary Stevenson

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
One belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
He looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life,
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
And saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times
in my life there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed you most,
you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only oneset of footprints in the sand,
it was then that I carried you."

P/s: And everytime i read this, it's lifts me!
