AMTE!

I have finally started my book project and it's amazing...I was panic-stricken at first...not knowing where to start or how...finally dragged my SE along and had a short nooner...*winks*...got the book started and am still not done with my first chapter....(wondering why r there so many numbers..arghhhhh!!)

the previous PE/SE have not tagged most of the lawrefs and caserefs....and since the book's on master tax examples...u can imagine...all the 2004/2005 is now changed to 2005/2006..the calculations...hmmmmm! am hoping to finsih the chapter by tomm and get started with the next chapters...

was backbreaking at first, u know getting the tagging done correspondingly but it was ok by the end of the day...am getting the hang of it...this is just the tip of the iceberg...am sure there's loads more to come....

Deeps commotion…

Hahahha…the loveliest thing happened over the weekend…my sis and I decided to go over to my parents place to make some traditional cookies for Deepavali…and it was boisterous! We had so much fun doing it as a family!

After a long time including my grandma were together making the murukku’s, achi murukku’s, kara murukku’s and the omopodi!!!!! (4 palaharams in 1 day…r we good or r we good?) We even thought about selling it to the local canteens…it turned out so good (yumminess)…my sis and I were actually impressed with our culinary skills…mom was so delighted…she could use this as our plus point for match making my sis said…ahhahhahahhaha…hilarious!

Dad as usual did the harder bits, like the pressing and shaping …we women did the frying, cooking, making of dough and packaging…of coz, he could not have completed the day without his chilled beer!! What a treat….we had ice creams instead…

We had a field day…reminded us of our younger days…we would sit in the kitchen and watch mom do all this and we wait for the cake batter so tht we could lick the fresh dough of the spoons and bowl….fruit cakes…she makes the best fruit cakes…ever ever and ever ever!

So am looking forward for more quality times like this…the feeling is priceless!!!

Big Girls should cry?

Why do we cry? We women cry for the finest of things sometimes (or is it most of the time? laughs)…is it for reasons both biological and social, scientists and sociologists say, women are more inclined than men to feel the urge to cry for delicate or impervious matters!!? Something to think about?

Scientists do not know exactly why women tend to cry more easily, but several factors may be at work. One is the hormone prolactin, which is present in mammary glands and induces lactation but is also found in the blood and in tear glands. Boys and girls have about equal levels of prolactin levels in their blood during childhood. But from ages of 12 to 18, the levels in girls gradually rise, and that may have something to do with why women cry more than men.

Tear glands in men and women also differ anatomically, and that, too, may lead women to cry more easily.

So when a man cries, it leads people to think he's a sweet, sensitive, caring individual…but when a woman cries, she is often seen as "emotionally labile." I hear women being called crybaby all the time, even by other women…the judgment can be unfair because sometimes women cry for good reasons. At least i do...(movies don't count ok!)

It’s unfair that men are always allowed to be more direct like for example pounding tabletops and yelling and throwing something against walls and do various kinds of physical acting out. But sadly we women's mode of expression is supposed to be more passive, more childlike. Maybe if women could act out like men, there would probably be less tears?

Do we women need to be vigilant, to hold it in? Pondering continues....

Micasa!!

Weekend was impeccable as usual! We went drinking on Friday night a this club called ‘cockpit’ (was my first time there…been yonks since I stepped foot in Bangsar!!!!!)…Hmmm….u should see the waitresses…tube’s as skirts? (now guys…stop drooling!!) Believe me gals, it was not sexy at all rather a lil disgusting! I definitely can’t picture myself in there again!

The club was filled with young kids…yes I mean immature, juvenile, adolescent kids…what the hell are they all doing in clubs? (it used to be great when I painted bangsar red!) ahems…..i sound ancient huh!! But hey…whteva happened to all the nice descent men & women…have they all turned into fossils? It was disheartening to see how everything in Bangsar has changed…for the worse? I used to know what to do!!!!!!!

Anyways, lazed around the house the whole of Saturday (although I had lunch and dinner with me sis Aumi) and went to see my parents on Sunday…mom cooked pork luncheon and it was super! And we had our ‘family moment’….and at the end of the day…I thank god for such a loving and caring family…a family who understands me and a family who’ve been nothing but supportive….always always!

So cheers to Pupsy, Momsy, Aumi, Amama and….Moma in Sarawak…inside some cave!

The passes, the stages, the checks, the composing, the printing, the synchronizing, the exporting, the all….haiyoooo…(I just nearly pissed in my pants thinking about it all…)

So am hoping tht I will be fine, although I was telling Nadia how scary it all is and how I m definitely going to be a mess in the next 2 months to come…looking forward? Maybe a lil place in my heart is thumping for joy; the evil side of me is saying…what the hell have u got urself into gal? Flight Plan...hmmm...!

So...my colleagues (I-Lynn and Wai Lee) and I went to watch Flight Plan after work....brilliant? Well it was ok...at one point I seriously thought tht it was all an illusion (at least in Kyle’s mind played by Jodie Foster) ...u know with her daughter Julia and all...but I guess that’s the twist of the story...they made u believe tht it was all in her imagination...but at the end her persistence and perseverance brought her and her daughter back together.... awwww!!

And then we decided to have Hong Kie food for dinner...and we went to this restaurant called 'Wong Kok' (similar to the Kim Gary Restaurant...only cheaper!!)...Nice...I had the Cheese toast with pork and rice in Sze Huan style and it was yummmieeeeee! It was a new thingy...and I had a papaya milkshake the size enough for an elephant to drink...aahhhahah!!

'Life and spiritualism' was our topic of conversation and it’s amazing how people perceive things differently from you...some have an open mind to absorb and filter ones version of dogma and some are obdurate with theirs! Hmmm…somewhat like what Forest Gump says…Life is like a box of chocolates, u never know what u’ll get! (the more evident version one would like to understand??)

Oh well…we spoke for hours…goes to show how adamant we got ….I guess we just need to compromise at the cross-junction…but do we really???

Shopping for sarees!!

Phew!! Finally the deeps shopping is done…we went to the all time fav “Klang” to get our deeps sarees and me dad’s kurtas…and gosh….the amount of people…unbelievable… everyone so engrossed looking for their right choice…and the many kinds that were there…haahhaha….my cousin Arul dreaded coming along…he kept on saying….”Whteva happened to the nice looking Indian gals? Where the hell have they all gone too?” it was hilarious…he was so bored…bored to death that he kept dissing everything that came along his way…poor boy…!!!!

It rained before we could collect our saree blouses…just added to Arul’s disappointment…and we were almost drenched wet on the way to the car….hmmmm! it could not have been complete without the rain…sigh!

Anyways, I think my family and I did a pretty good shopping and all of us happy with our new purchased items and the best thing was that dad was happy too! (although he could not come as he had to meet the auditors)..a blessing I must say…otherwise dad will keep asking how much each cost…hahahha….pupsy…we love u!

So can’t wait to do the catwalk on deeps morning……

SEs vs. PEs

There has been a constant barrier between the SEs and PEs in the office and today it has taken its toll to great lengths! SEs think they r mighty superior just because they get paid slightly higher than the PEs and so the job description varies with the different SEs…

And today one particular SE has just got into my nerves…I mean, here we are trying to work within the deadline (mind u which is this coming Monday) and this missy is doing her sheriff rounds (meaning going from table to table chit chatting)…when she has work to do…oh common!!

Currently the product is in my workflow state and if she does not complete her bit quickly (Para checking that is!), I can’t proceed with mine…(kicking my chair as of now)…where the hell is your priorities missy??????? This is annoyance in many degrees…I have been ultimately patient for sometime now (those who know me, know this is hard to come by) and my next resort to confronting the problem was to write an email to my team leader, explaining the situation! I just spoke to her and she said she will deal with this missy’s team leader…could I have taken matters into my own hands? Hell yeah…but I have to respect my teammates and other issues that everyone else is handling….

So it’s do or die now…. u better buck up missy…or else…

Bulan Ramadhan?

So..it’s back again with the Bulan Ramadhan and the puasa-ing…I tot I will give it a try and see for how long I could take not eating…ok the not eating bit was alright…the no drinking and no fufu-ing was the hardest…I could not even last 4 hours…haahhaha! So much for my puasa-ing!!

So Nadia and I still visit the 2nd floor for our ‘fufu’ sessions…but the unique bit is that she is puasa-ing, so she just accompanies me…amazing huh! Things friends do for you…first I felt really bad…u know how temptations can be detrimental at times!! But Nadia is one hard ball to crack (the respect given for this month is phenomenal…for some at least!)

Looking forward to all the goodies at the end of the month…ooo…Deepavali is right at the corner too…yippee!! New sarees for all…

One movie was about this really rich gal (born rich to Tobacco Tycoon, Buck Duke) and how she dealt with her whole life trying to keep or save guard her money (although she was unhappy her whole freaking life coz all the people whom she fell in love with, well they fell in love with her money….I actually felt sad for this lady)…and the other movie where this unemployed guy finds 1.2 million dollars on the street and how he dealt with his new found fortune (although he never spent his money wisely) before he got caught by the police…5 days later!

Here I kept thinking to myself…a lot of people I know are trying to find the riches of the world so that they could live comfortably, but it came to a point (after watching the movie of coz)…that material wealth is not all that and what is it that really keeps our life enriched?!

My mom used to always say, be careful what u wish for…because most of the time one would not be able to handle it….how is this possible? Everyone wants money, everyone wants to be able to purchase something without having to look at the price tag or having to worry how to pay for it…..everyone wants to be debt free or gosh…that reminds me of my credit card bills…Hahahha!

So when is it enough? How long or what does it take for us to be happy? When does it stop? Something to think about????? I am…
